The Name

The best way to picture a hare is to imagine a rabbit with longer than normal ears and hind legs.

Similar to the jack-rabbit in other parts of the world, hares live in scrapes in the soil which allows them body camouflage, keeping only their eyes above ground level. Being brave and noble creatures, hares hold their nerve in the face of approaching threat, only breaking cover at the last minute, to make a quick escape.

Now imagine Michael and Peter strolling through the vineyard in the early morning, accompanied by the family dogs Molly and Mousse. They're discussing future plans in the peaceful calm - only to have the tranquillity shattered by a hare exploding from it's cover in a cloud of red dust, literally at their feet - scaring the &%*# out of man and beast - and sending the dogs on a noisy and fruitless chase.......... and so the name was born.
