[2008 TEMPRANILLO]
Colour
Dark plum red.
Nose
Initially smoky characters dominate but as the wine sits in the glass fruits such as cherry and plum emerge.
Palate
This medium bodied wine has a good balanced tannin which has softened with an extended period in older barrels. The tannin contributes to the long finish of the wine and results in the wine being a fine accompaniment to food, particularly those with spicy characters such as chorizo sausage. The flavours of the wine are reminiscent of rosewater and hazelnut. 2008 was a strong year for Tempranillo in the Barossa Valley, the warm dry December and January were the major weather factors that influenced the high quality.
